Ideograph is the product of combining one idea or meaning to another different idea which creates a third new meaning. The use of ideographs is not only important in a writing system of Airport-moji (Airport script) as Miller explains but is also an important component of consumerism in America. A part of the driving force in businesses is the use of advertisements which help to create a brand image. The brand image is typically symbolized by the use of a logo and the logo/icon is used to communicate an idea to consumers. It's interesting to think of the certain brand icons that exist, such as the Geico Gecko and Mr. Clean, and how they each mean or symbolize something more than just a reptile or a person. The brands put together can also possibly create a third new meaning. This is true if the brand itself is very 'strong' and that's where advertising comes into play.
